MS. CHILING TONG
President and CEO of National ACE; Founding President of ILF
Chiling Tong has intensive domestic and international experience in economic and business development focusing the growth of small and minority business enterprises competing globally. She is the President and Chief Executive Office of The Asian & Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship (National ACE). As the Founding President of International Leadership Foundation, Tong has built a network of 15 chapters of entrepreneurs and community leaders, to support its mission. Tong was also an Ash Center Research fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. As the Chief of Staff and Associate Director at the Minority Business Development Agency, she helped minority enterprises and small disadvantaged businesses obtain contracts and loans by identifying opportunities. She previously served as a Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of Commerce. Tong has been a member of the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and the Board of Directors of the Congressional Awards Board for young leaders.
MR. GEORGE CHUNKAU MUI
Global Market Access Team Lead, MBDA
George Mui is a Global Market Access Team Lead in the Office of Business Development for the Minority Business Development
Agency at the U.S. Department of Commerce. As a global strategist, he provides business consulting services for minority businesses in international business development and strategy focusing on domestic and international partnerships providing access to global markets. George served as the Senior Advisor to WHIAAPI in a special assignment as the Business Liaison for the AAPI Business Community. A community advocate with a special focus on Asian American business, George is active outside of his main job assignment. He is currently serves on the White House Initiative on AAPI Regional Network, the Advisory Committee for the Office of New Americans for the City of Chicago, the Board for the Chicago Association for Corporate Growth (ACG Chicago), Alumni Board for the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Advisory Board for the SAUPO program at the Kennesaw State University.
MR. BENJAMIN (GUOBIN) CHENG
Former CTUAAA President
Benjamin Cheng is a senior leader in the Chiao-Tung University Alumni Association in America (CTUAAA). As one of the founding members and 10-year Presidency of CTUAAA, and now at age of 93, Mr. Cheng “owns” the history of our alumni group! He graduated from CTU in 1946, and came to the USA in 1951. With a group of alumni in US, he helped the CTU, Hsinchu to establishment in 1958. With a group of over 70% CTU alumni, he helped the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to establishment. Together with Dr. James Chao as the Chairman, he served as the CTUAAA President from 1990-2000. The group organized a 100-people 20-days visit to all 5 Universities during the 100th Anniversary Grand Celebration in 1996. The former China Leader Jiang Zemin (alumni, 1946 Shanghai) himself met the group of 50 alumni! Mr. Cheng had his own Fortune 500 manufacturing testing company for over 20 years! He will share his initiative with us on CTUAAA!
MS. JANE YANG
President, CTUAAA-DC
Jane Yang has extensive experience in pension investment, private equity investment, projects financing, corporate strategic planning and risk management, and through volunteering, non-profit organization’s operation. She has focused on the US and Asian Pacific emerging markets. Analytics savvy with excellent interpersonal, managerial, and negotiation skills, she has buy/sell side experience with Wilshire Associates, Goldman Sachs, World Bank, Columbia Energy Group, CEE, Abacus Partners, and currently, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. Beside her regular work, Jane actively involves in Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC), and serves on the Board of the Association for Federal Enterprise Risk Management (AFERM). Jane is the President of CTUAAA Washington DC Chapter. She has been volunteering as a Taichi teacher, OM judge, church choir, and MIT Parent Connector. Jane holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). She successfully completed the Wharton Executive Development Program. Jane earned her BS from National Chiao Tung Univ., and an MBA from UC, Riverside.
MS. JIEMIN JORDAN
Alumni, Managing Partner, Decisive Investment Jiemin, Managing Partner of Decisive Investment Group, is a
seasoned entrepreneur and an angle investor. She is a mentor and an investor of Mach37, a cyber security accelerator. Currently, she is working on setting up a CONNECTpreneur Investment Network. She was the founder and CEO of Endeavor Systems, Inc., a cyber security firm providing products and solutions to US market since 2003. Endeavor Systems was recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the 100 fast growing companies in America. Endeavor Security, a subsidiary of Endeavor, was spun off in 2005, and was acquired by McAfee in 2009. Endeavor Systems was acquired by Telesis Corporation in 2012. Jiemin has more than 20 years experience in the IT industry. She received her bachelor- EE from Shanghai Jiaotong Univ., and Master-CS at George Mason University. She is a graduated member of MindShare Executive Management Program.
MR. WEIWEI JIAN
Alumni, CEO, Unimex
Weiwei Jian is a small business owner in Northern Virginia. Prior to founding his own company, Unimex Corporation, in late 2009, he worked for two engineering consulting firms. Starting and building a business from ground up has always been Jian’s interest and passion – he finds the challenges and opportunities that come along with it both exciting and rewarding. Jian graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong Univ. in 2006 and obtained his MS degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Duke University in 2008. Mr. Jian and his wife, Nancy, call Vienna, VA their home and have lived there since 2009.
DR. BO SUN
Managing Director, AIG
Dr. Sun Bo is the Managing Director of American International Group (AIG) in charge of AIG Washington DC area business. Dr. Sun has been actively supporting CTUAAA-DC for many years. He graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong Univ. School of Medicine in 1984. He then joined Xian Fifth Hospital as an attending doctor for ten years. In 1994 he worked as a research fellow in University of Pittsburg School of Medicine. From 1999 to 2015, he was the senior partner in New York Life Insurance Company.
